Terms of Use
Effective date: 1 June 2025
Important: Ask Carri provides early intervention guidance and parent support. It is not a substitute for formal occupational therapy evaluation or treatment. If you have urgent concerns about your child's health or development, please consult a registered healthcare professional directly.
1. About this service
Ask Carri is operated by Carri, a paediatric OT with years of experience supporting children's development. The platform offers developmental guidance, milestone information, school readiness resources, and a personalised check-in service through which Carri reviews video submissions and questionnaire responses from parents and provides written Progress Notes and home programme suggestions.
By using this platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. By registering a child profile you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and that you have the right to submit information and video footage relating to them.
3. Subscriptions and payment
- ·Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled.
- ·All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
- ·Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- ·You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period - no refunds are issued for partial months.
- ·We reserve the right to change pricing. We will give at least 30 days notice of any price increases.
4. Service delivery
- ·Carri aims to review submitted check-ins and send a Progress Note within 3–5 business days of receiving a complete submission.
- ·Turnaround times are not guaranteed and may vary during high demand or leave periods. We will communicate delays.
- ·The number of check-ins included depends on your subscription tier. Unused check-ins do not roll over.
5. Nature of the guidance
Progress Notes and home programmes provided through Ask Carri constitute professional OT guidance based on the information you supply. They are not a clinical diagnosis. They are not a substitute for a formal in-person OT evaluation, medical consultation, or any other regulated health service.
You remain responsible for decisions you make about your child's care. Carri will always indicate in her notes if she believes a formal in-person evaluation is warranted.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you submit (questionnaire responses, video footage). By submitting it, you grant Ask Carri a limited licence to use it solely to provide the service - to review, analyse, and generate guidance for you. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is set out in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
All content on this platform - including programme bundles, activity descriptions, milestone guides, concern pathway articles, and the Grade R guide - is the intellectual property of Carri / Ask Carri. You may use this content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute it without written permission.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- ·Submit false or misleading information
- ·Share your account credentials with others
- ·Use the platform in any way that violates South African law
- ·Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the platform
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ask Carri and Carri shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this platform or from reliance on any guidance provided. Our total liability in any calendar month shall not exceed the subscription fee you paid in that month.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time. On account closure, your data is handled per our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
